The Beaches of South Walton

South Walton Coastline |
With the appearance of brilliant emeralds admist white sand, the beaches of South Walton are a precious gem of natural
beauty. Many people, after seeing the shores of the Gulf of Mexico along our beaches, remark that it's one of the most breath-taking and
best-kept beauties they have ever seen. It's because of this that many in the Southeast time and time again call our beaches some of the
best in the country.
Some of the attributes that make our beaches so exquisite include the sugary-white, powder-soft sand, which at its base is quartz that has
filtered down from Appalachian mountains through the rivers and onto our beaches. Each grain, being the shape of a perfect little oval, is
what makes for the "squeaking" sound when you walk along the sands.
Another part of the natural beauty found in South Walton is the delightful blend of foliage, including sea oats, wildflowers, magnolia trees
and various palms. Couple this with the native wildlife, such as several species of dolphin and porpoise, sea turtles that lay eggs along our
beaches and stingrays that migrate in early fall, and you have a wonderful array of nature's finest creations.
